Committee News

The Committee welcomed our President, Shangar Singh back from the recent travels that he and Carol have been on – it is certainly one way of beating the ‘winter blues’. From all accounts they had a great time.

From the last Committee meeting (21 October):

    The fence adjoining a Hurley Street property is unstable; currently in contact with the owner to address the issue.
    Website – a new page (Bridge Talk) has been developed – members are encouraged to submit bridge related articles.
    The Club’s policies and procedures have all been reviewed.
    Applications for membership and re-enrolment confirmed.
    The Match programme book for 2015 is with the printer and the draft is due back for proof reading. Approximate delivery date is mid to late November
    Investigations are progressing around a new/different scoring programme (Compscore 2).
    Christmas function money distribution between the sessions has been finalised. Respective Convenors will be advised.
    Funding application being prepared to endeavour to cover costings around new office storage and movable whiteboard.
    The Committee approved a modest $3 increase to the Club membership subscription for 2015 in anticipation of ongoing increasing costs.
    The teaching programme for 2015 has been finalised and the beginner lessons will be free.
    The draft Strategic Plan for 2015 – 2016 was discussed – this should be out for member consultation early in November
    Honour Boards – samples were on display for consideration by the Committee
    First Aid kits will be made available for Club members to purchase – for each purchase the Club receives a percentage.
