Beginner Classes
Three full courses of beginners classes will be held on Wednesdays.

- February 1 – April 4 Tutor: Jane Skipper
- March 12 – April 2 Fast-Track lessons – 4 weeks Tutor: John Hay
- May 2 – July 4
- August 1 – October 3
Detailed information about the classes will be available from the manager. Members are requested to actively encourage friends and relations to join these classes and learn to play bridge. Please let the manager know if people would like lessons on a different night or during the day.
Beginners are taught Acol with full notes provided. Enrolments can be lodged with the manager by telephone or email throughout the year. See below for contact details.

Bridge Seminars
will be held on the first Wednesday of each month, February thru November. Topics to be advised. Please enquire if you have ideas for course topics. Tutor: Shirley Newton
All seminars include 20-30 minutes discussion followed by practice hands.
February Opening bids – 1C to 5D! (Can you judge whether to open and find the correct bid?)
March Rules for responder (After partner opens at the 1-level, what should you respond?)
April Opener’s and responder’s rebids. (Should you be in a part score, game or slam?)
May 1NT Opening and responses. (You don’t promise a rebid!)
June Overcalls – suit and NT (Purpose and requirements of an overcall.)
July Takeout doubles (How to compete with the unbid suits.)
August Card play – NT contracts (Count your winners- now what!)
September Card play – suit contracts (Count your losers – should I draw trumps?)
October Leads vs NT and suit contracts (What’s best – honours, shortage, trumps, fourth best?)
November Stayman/Blackwood (Let’s try two conventions!)
Improver Classes
will be held during the year.
