CHCH Bridge Update COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate 24-November-2021
The committee met last night to discuss the ramifications for our club of the government's upcoming move to the Traffic Light system for dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak. It was decided unanimously to designate the club as a venue which requires the provision of a valid COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (i.e. My Vaccine Pass) for entry, this designation to take effect from 11.59pm on Thursday 2 December 2021 in line with the recent government announcement. This stipulation will apply to all CBC members, bridge members from other clubs and all those who hire, use or visit the clubrooms for any other purposes. Only those who have been granted a valid government-endorsed Vaccination Exemption Certificate will not be subject to this requirement, but would be required to wear a mask at all times.
In instituting the use of Vaccination Certificates the health and wellbeing of our members has been paramount. Although having the vaccine does not guarantee that we will not contract the virus, it does reduce the likelihood and severity and provide us with greater peace of mind going forward. In addition, the move does mean that the club is now able to operate with more than 100 people at the green and orange levels, and up to 100 at the red. The booking system will end after next Thursday, 2 December.
So that we are able to document vaccination status, please bring your certificate to the club (either on your phone or in hard copy) from this Thursday, 25 November, onwards. It will be sighted and the expiry date recorded against your NZ Bridge number in our database. Please note that entry to the club after 2 December will be dependent upon your provision of this information, either before then or the first time you return to play.
The situation is currently very dynamic and the committee will continue to monitor any changes in legislation and implementation as the situation unfolds. Thank you everyone for your anticipated patience and co-operation as we enter the next phase of this challenging journey.
Marilyn Copland,
President
