From the Committee
At last the good news we have all been waiting for; Level 1 and a return to almost normal. There are now no barriers to the Bridge Club opening and for play to start. The committee met on Monday after the Government announcement, and in line with advice from NZ Bridge we are open as of Tuesday night, 9 June.
Some points to note:
- We will start with competitions and the regular match programme from Monday 15 June.
- You can play on your regular night(s) or sessions this week. There is no limit on numbers.
- Many competitions have been affected because of the nights we have missed. There will be an updated programme and information as to how results will be calculated available later this week.
- Please bring your own pens.
- No food will be served until further notice.
- The bar will open after sessions as normal.
- There will be no EFTPOS available on Tuesday 9 June, but it should be available after that.
- The Julian Cup is to be postponed and rescheduled; there will be information soon.
- The club will continue with an expanded cleaning programme in the meantime
COVID-19 Safeguards
While we have beaten that one virus for now, we are still in winter with its colds and flus, so the advice remains the same:
- Do not come to the club if you are at all unwell or show any symptoms of illness.
- Wash your hands with soap and water regularly.
- Use hand sanitiser.
- Do not touch your face.
- Sneeze into your sleeve.
- Minimise physical contact.
- Follow the advice of your doctor if you are in an at-risk category.
Happy bridging everyone,
Christchurch Bridge Club Committee
