Weekly Update 14-December-2021
Counterfeit Notes:
Over the past week the club has been given a total of 25 counterfeit notes as payment of table fees or at the bar. Clearly there is a significant number of these notes now in circulation in Christchurch.
As a club we cannot allow this to continue.
For COVID reasons it is good practice and we have already recommended all payments to the club for table fees and bar purchases are made by Eftpos. This is yet another reason why Eftpos should be used if at all possible. If you need to pay in cash we ask that in the interim you use coins
for table fees.
We thank you for your assistance and cooperation which will hopefully avoid the need for more stringent restrictions on methods of payment.
Note: click on the link below for information re these counterfeit notes or refer to the Reserve Bank site https://www.rbnz.govt.nz/notes-and-coins/security-and-counterfeit-detection/how-to-spot-a-counterfeit.
