Weekly Update 20/22-September-2021
The government announced today that Level 2 can now have up to 100 people indoors which means the Club will reopen on Wednesday 22nd September.
Club Session Size is Limited to 100 players.
Please book through the office email
(office@chchbridge.co.nz) if you want to attend. We will only take bookings for the current sessions i.e. no booking in advance for future sessions. Please play at your usual session.
The match programme is suspended until we are back at level 1.
Note:
- Please do not come to the club if you are unwell.
- Please do not come to the club if you have not booked a place.
- Make sure you use your contact tracer app on your phone to sign in or there will be a few places where you can sign in on paper.
- Please bring your masks in case you require them. We will know more tomorrow when the government website is updated.
We encourage all members to follow COVID-19 guidelines and visit their health centre if they exhibit any symptoms.
The Club will keep you updated as news comes to hand.

Booking in for Sessions:
- Email the office: office@chchbridge.co.nz with your partners name and yours and which session you would like to attend.
- If you are unable to attend a session you are booked in for, please let the office know asap as there is a waiting list for some sessions.
Other:
- Staff members will be wearing facemasks. NZ Bridge has recommended them for players but this is voluntary.
- Please ensure that you use the tracer app on your mobile phone when you arrive at the club. The app notice has been put up in a number of places in the clubrooms. If you don’t have a mobile phone, there is a register by the office door to sign in.
- Ensure you sanitize your hands or wash/dry them in the restrooms before play.
- If you are unwell, please do not come to the club and stay home.

Thursday night is full, other sessions still open.
There is the Thursday & Sunday afternoon sessions at 1pm for those wanting to play more bridge. No partner required.
If you are booking a session on the day of play, please email the office by 3.30pm on that day to make sure you are included on the booking sheet for the directors.
Important Reminders when coming to the Club:
- Scanning in is a legal requirement and everyone must do this as a condition of coming in.
- Mask use is recommended but not compulsory.
- Anyone who has been in the upper North Island in the last 14 days should stay away.
- Do not come if you are a known contact or have been asked to self-isolate.
- Anyone who has any respiratory condition or otherwise unwell is to stay away.
- If you have to cough or sneeze, do it well away from tables and other people.

Waitangi Day Bridge: is on this Friday. 10.20am start and bring your lunch. Friday Rubber Bridge: this Friday at the club at 6.30pm – 8.30pm. No partner required. All welcome. National Rubber Bridge Competition: Enter on-line at https://www.nzbridge.co.nz/events/12329/Canterbury-Rubber-Bridge-Competition Matches are to be played between March and August. Entries close 1st March. National Teams Tournament: is being held here on the weekend 21/22 February. On-line entries close: Friday 13th Feb. We are looking for volunteer spare players/pairs for the weekend in case we require another team and/or in case of sickness. Please contact the office if you can help. Canterbury Regional Trials: for the Open/Senior/Women's are being held at the Club on Sunday 1st March. Please note the correct date. Intermediates are not trialling but will be selected by the Regional Committee and will still need to enter see below. Entries are to be made on-line on the NZ Bridge website under tournaments. There are 2 entry lists: Canterbury Regional Championship Trials (Open/Women/Senior) Canterbury Regional Championship Selection (Intermediate) Julian Cup Date Change: From Saturday 15th August to Saturday 22nd August.
