Weekly Update 25-May-2021

Zone 7 Playoffs: Basically a test between Australia and New Zealand. NZ won the Open, Women and Mixed.

The Women's team included Jan Alabaster, Shirley Newton and Jenny Wilkinson from our club.

Kaikoura Tournament:

Intermediate-Saturday (5B)

Linda White and Viv Hurst - 3rd

Open 10A

David Skipper and Michael Ware - 1st
Tim Schumacher and Jeremy Fraser Hoskins - 2nd

Restricted Open

Sam Gurney and Tony Quinlivan - 1st

Julian Cup & Senior/Junior Teams:

These are Club member only tournaments which will be held over the weekend 19/20 June.

The Julian Cup is sponsored by Westende Jewellers where a Senior/Senior Reserve player partners an Intermediate or Junior player.
The following day will be the teams event where a Senior/Senior Reserve pair teams up with an Intermediate or Junior pair. Seniors play Seniors and Juniors play Juniors.

Information and entry lists can be found on the foyer noticeboard.

Date: Sunday 30 at 10am.

Tutor: Max Morrison

Topic: Improve your technical skill in the play of the hand

Wednesday Seminar

Date: Wednesday June 2 at 5.50pm-

Topic: Trump Contracts - when to draw trumps or ruff in dummy.

Club Working Bee:

The Working Bee scheduled for this Sunday has been postponed until Sunday 13th June as the weather forecast is for rain all weekend.

Sunday bridge at 1pm, no partner required.

Starting Time Survey for Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evening sessions:

In response to requests from some members for a possible change in starting times we will be conducting a survey over the next 2 weeks.

Please vote for your session/s only. Survey forms will be given out at the sessions. Spare forms will be available if you are absent in week one.
