BBO Teams Events
Hello Bridge enthusiasts everywhere,
GBL Teams (a global Teams League) restarts on Friday 9th April.
For those who haven’t played in the league before, each series of GBL Teams is played on the bridgebase (BBO) platform over a period of about 7 weeks. We target the league for social bridge players who want to foster friendships through regular games of international Teams bridge. We play our matches each week at a set time on Fridays at 0700 GMT. We only operate the league between April and October each year due to the variances of different summer-times around the world. Our playing season allows us to include regions of the world from UK & Ireland east as far as New Zealand.
The format is a true Teams affair where one team plays another team over 24 boards. There is a short half time break to swap opponent pairs.
GBL is introducing some new features for the next series.
Games will now be started centrally by us rather than by Team Captains. Team members may log in to BBO any time from 0630 GMT. As soon as all team members and their match opponents are on line their game will be started.
Starting the matches centrally provides us with another advantage. It allows us to use the same deals for every match in that round. Thus the league will benefit from common hands and help to make a fairer competition.
An informative flier for email or download to your bridge playing friends and clubs is attached. Help us spread the word and grow our worldwide bridge community.
Registrations close on 31st March so register your interest NOW by completing the webform on
www.gblteams.com
home page.
Best,
GBLTeams
