Update 29-August-2020
The Christchurch Bridge Club will reopen from the evening of Monday 31 August in accordance with recommendations from NZ Bridge. Please note that there will NOT be a Monday afternoon session on the 31st Aug
but all other sessions will be available from Monday night onwards. As numbers are restricted to only 100, the first 48 pairs to email the club at office@chchbridge.co.nz
will be accepted. This allows us to account for the directors and any ancillary staff who may be present. Please note that only ONE member of each pair should register, stating the names of the two players and their grade (eg senior, senior reserve etc.). Please do not book for more than ONE session at a time. NOTE: Entries should be made by 1pm on day of the evening session you are attending and by 1pm Thursday for the Friday morning session.
(Late entries will be accepted if the session is not fully subscribed.) Once sessions are fully subscribed an email will be sent out by the office. Normal competitions are suspended for the week.
BBO
The last BBO session will be Sunday night.
It is important that we all adhere to the following guidelines sent out by NZ Bridge:
Bridge under Alert Level 2: The Board has considered the Government's new settings and concluded Clubs will be able to resume club and organised events provided they meet and adhere to the requirements set out by Government. We have historically adopted a cautious and conservative path with a single focus of - protection and welfare of the player. It is now clear the Government has more tools at its disposal and has approved gatherings of no more than 100 people can take place. NB: At Alert level 2 the disease is contained, but there is still a risk of community transmission.
Applicable to all Bridge Clubs in New Zealand
- Gatherings must have no more than 100 people in each defined space*. (* a defined space has walls or partitions that divide it from other spaces)
- Remind players if they are sick to stay at home.
- Remind players if they have COVID-19 symptoms they must not enter the clubrooms
- Maintain high hygiene standards (wash hands, use hand sanitizer, sneeze, or cough into elbow).
- Maintain contact tracing and display the QR code. Please actively encourage our members to scan this code if they have an appropriate phone.
- Maintain physical distancing from people you do not know, consider wearing a face mask.
