Weekly Update 8/9-February-2022

Club AGM will be held on Thursday 24th March at 6.30pm. Nominations for committee are now open, nominations forms can be found in the foyer.

Club First Aiders: Asking for first aiders, nurses or doctors who are willing to help in an emergency. Please let your convenor know if you want your name added to the list.

Entering for Sessions: Please send your entries in with you and your partners NZ Bridge number. These can be found on the NZ Bridge website.

Players who are on the waiting list and miss out will go to the following weeks entries. Please contact to the office if would like to confirm your entry for the following week. This is to be done after the current session has been played.

Sickness: If you have entered for a session and need to cancel your booking, please do so before 4.30pm on the day so as to give the office time to contact players on the waiting list.

Thursday and Sunday afternoons starting at 1pm. Plenty of room at these sessions to play, no booking or partner required.

Update 9-February-2022
Club Sessions:
The Covid-19 Red Traffic Light level places us in an awkward position, for three of our evening sessions: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The numbers attending these sessions normally exceed the limit of 100 people and so the booking system is in use and used to limit numbers. That means not all players will be able to play all qualifying nights for any events. As such the scheduled match programme for these nights is on hold. We will run non-competition bridge. We will maintain the grades as separate unless the numbers in one grade are very small (<5 tables) in which case they may combine.

All other sessions are below the 100 person limit and as such there is no impediment to people playing and the competitions will continue without change.

A modified match programme for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights will be issued when we have a change in traffic light or allowable numbers.

CBC Committee - Match

Reminder:
In view of the current OMICRON situation the committee has decided to introduce compulsory mask-wearing from Monday 31 January (unless you have a medical exemption) a few days before the government mandated date of 4 February. Please follow government guidelines in terms of the type of masks worn.
These are testing times and we will continue to monitor developments closely. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
