Weekly Update 9-February-2021
The South Island Teams are on this Sat 13 / Sun 14 February.
We have 48 teams which is the biggest entry ever at a club outside of the national congress in New Zealand.
Click Here for the Rubber Bridge Flyer
We would love some more volunteers
for kitchen, gophers, easy miscellaneous jobs. Contact Sue in the office or add your name to the list in the foyer.
Spare players:
We need players or pairs to act as substitute players in case of sickness.
Sunday Bridge 14th February is cancelled
due to the number of teams entered in the South Island Teams.
Thursday Afternoon Bridge Session:
Don’t forget about the new Thursday Afternoon session at the club, starts at 12.50pm and no partner required.
Rubber Bridge Competition:
see below to access the flyer for more details. Our very own Tony Quinlivan and Stuart Grant won the national title last year!
New EFTPOS system:
The new EFTPOS system at the club has worked well for player session tickets. There are a few minor issues which players need to be aware of:
- Please use the tablet beside the EFTPOS to purchase your player ticket, press the EFTPOS button at the bottom right-hand side of the screen (green), NOT the EFTPOS itself. Then you can use your EFTPOS card on the EFTPOS terminal. Two tickets are issued, the first is your receipt and the second is to be put on the table.
- Another issue with some players purchasing session tickets and not using them at that session. If you have purchased a ticket which you cannot use at that session, you may use for another session but please let the directors know on that night to make a note of it for the office. When you do use this ticket at another session, please let the directors know as the date will not relate to that session. The office has to reconcile the EFTPOS transactions daily.

Roads will be closed on parts of Barbadoes Street, Madras Street between Hereford Street and St Asaph Street and streets close by around the stadium. Access to the Club will still be open but maybe allow more time to get there. Beginner Bridge Classes: The next class starts Monday 4th May at 7.30pm. Tutor: David Taylor.
